Position Overview General Manager of a Copart facility: responsible for overall planning, organizing, leading, and controlling (P-O-L-C) functions, ensuring budget, revenue, and customer satisfaction standards. Leads the facility team, manages day‑to‑day operations, fosters an engaging environment, drives operational excellence, and maintains compliance. Responsibilities Partner with HR to attract, recruit, develop, and retain a diverse, high‑performing team. Train and develop staff to meet company guidelines and expectations. Ensure continual positive communication and feedback with staff, and deliver all annual Continuous Improvement Summaries (CIS reviews) timely. Manage the day‑to‑day operations of the facility, becoming a subject‑matter expert in all process areas. Recruit and maintain an appropriate number of sub‑haulers to manage logistical requirements. Remain within compliance guidelines for System Quality Reviews, Field Quality Reviews, and Equipment and Safety Reviews. Raise concerns that could negatively impact the facility, employees, or customers up to the Regional Manager. Set goals and ensure each employee is leveraging provided tools to achieve success. Ensure compliance with county, state, EPA, OSHA, and DMV regulations. Disseminate pertinent knowledge to all employees to ensure transparency and clarity on company goals and initiatives. Maintain customer relationships (buyers, sellers, and internal customers). Identify knowledge and skill gaps among team members and provide remedies. Act as a brand ambassador for the company’s mission, vision, values, and culture. Communicate with all levels of leadership in the organization with tact and professionalism. Support local or non‑local CAT events throughout the year if called upon. Understand the assigned profit and loss statement and identify ways to increase revenue and decrease costs. Perform any other duties assigned by the Regional Manager or upper management. Required Skills & Experience Minimum of 2‑3 years as a manager; military or other relevant experience preferred. Proven track record of driving and achieving operational excellence and execution of corporate goals. Metric‑driven, with a history of supporting change initiatives. Strong communication skills and the ability to adjust tone based on audience. Strong relationship‑building skills. Strong critical thinking skills using logic to identify alternative solutions. Strong decision‑making skills, considering benefits and risks. Strong listening skills, active listening to issues or concerns. Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. Strong problem‑solving skills. Ability to multitask and stay positive with a strong sense of urgency. Bi‑lingual a plus.
