Procurement Specialist

Procurement SpecialistThis role will be responsible for executing FlexiVan's procurement strategies aimed at driving cost control, developing key vendor/supplier partnerships, fulfillment of operational needs, and diversifying supplier sourcing to minimize procurement risks.Provide analytical support for the procurement of services and materials which will include depot services, nationwide parts program, new build chassis projects, reconditioning projects, and drayage procurement. Capture and track capital expenditure related to new equipment acquisition and reconditioning or refurbishment of existing assets. Monitor supplier performance and ensure contractual obligations are met.Support both field and HQ operational teams with timely management of capital expenditure plans, vendor contracts, parts procurement and other procurement services to maximize efficiency. Work closely with Legal to ensure contract terms are favorable. Special attention to development and implementation of procurement practices that optimize cost and service.Support other functional areas including Fleet Operations, Maintenance & Repair, Business Intelligence, IT, Finance, and Commercial.Major Duties & ResponsibilitiesProcurement of servicesa) Participate in supplier evaluation and selectionb) Work with internal stakeholders to develop and maintain strategic vendor relationshipsc) Contract negotiations, locating and setting up new vendorsd) Work closely with Legal to ensure supplier contract terms are compliant and support Company interests and strategies.Analyze Procurement Effortsa) Develop, manage, and monitor all Operations Capital Expenditure projects including equipment new build programs, equipment reconditioning programs, and GPS module acquisitionsb) Track capital expenditure performance of actual spend to the planned spend and will collaborate and verify with Financec) Develop and maintain KPIs and trend performance dataVendor Managementa) Conduct routine cost-benefit analysis and contribute to continual vendor review and optimizationb) Assist with managing the Depot Quality Assurance Programc) Support operations by monitoring performance of various M&R vendors and part suppliersd) Assist with audits of product quality, billing accuracy, and other KPI related itemse) Keep track of vendor and supplier-related activities in the industryGPS Contract Managementa) Monitor telematics provider contract performanceb) Ensure contract auto renewal is managed with the best interests of FlexiVan kept in mindc) Develop and maintain compliance data and reportingKPI and performance metricsa) Assist with data gathering, data integrity, analysis, and reportingOther Duties as AssignedJob SpecificationsMinimum Education / QualificationsBachelor's Degree in business, economics, finance, statistics or other related fields of study.Minimum Years of Relevant Experience0-2+ years of working experience in operations, procurement, contracts, or financeMandatory Technical SkillsMicrosoft Excel – ability to create worksheets, charts/graphs, data tables, pivot tablesOffice 365 suite – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, SharePointPowerPoint – ability to create PowerPoint slides, insert graphics/images/shapes, animate slidesOther Preferred (but not required) SkillsPrior working experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or intermodal/shipping domainBusiness or quantitative degreeWorking knowledge of financial practices and methods and exposure to strategic sourcing conceptsAttributesSelf-driven, a team player and meticulousSelf-motivated, takes initiativeExcellent problem solving and analytical skillsRapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and prioritiesAbility to elicit cooperation from senior management and other departmentsMulti-tasking and time management skills with ability to prioritizeThis position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship.
