Sr. Director, Finance Applications (Atlanta)

The Sr. Director, Finance Applications serves as the business owner for the company’s core finance systems, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, billing platforms, SAP Concur, and warehouse management technologies, while helping shape the future finance technology roadmap. This leader is responsible for the governance, optimization, data integrity, user adoption, and ongoing improvement of all financial applications, partnering closely with Accounting, Supply Chain, FP&A, IT, and Operations teams. Working alongside Enterprise Technology and Field Operations, the role ensures finance systems integrate effectively with operational platforms, providing a stable, reliable, and efficient technology environment that maximizes business value and supports confident financial operations. This position is intended to transition into a permanent Sr. Director, Finance Applications role.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead hands‑on administration and optimization of D365 F&O, including configuration, light customizations, data management, and issue resolution to address business needs and improve finance operations.
• Design, build, and support integrations and automation across finance platforms, including Power Automate workflows, D365 integrations with Concur and 3PL systems, and validation of integrations with operational platforms.
• Drive the transition of finance application ownership from PwC, ensuring knowledge transfer, documentation, support processes, SLAs, governance, and long‑term operational readiness are successfully established.
• Own and lead the Finance Systems roadmap, balancing remediation, enhancements, stabilization efforts, and future platform investments while serving as the accountable owner for the finance application landscape.
• Establish governance and operating models, including prioritization, stakeholder alignment, vendor management, support structures, change management, and delivery accountability across Finance and IT.
• Drive continuous improvement and strategic transformation, ensuring accurate and compliant financial data, evaluating new technologies, and providing thought leadership to enhance finance processes and capabilities.
• Develop, lead and mentor a growing financial systems team; provide direction, coaching, and performance management.
• Lead cross functional collaboration with Finance, Legal, IT, and business partners to resolve accounting and reporting issues efficiently.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience in a related field; Master's degree strongly preferred.

Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in ERP finance systems, with at least 5 years in a leadership or program management capacity. Proven experience in financial and internal control processes, as well as building or scaling programs, processes, and governance.

Key Competencies: Proven ability to lead through ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and influence across the organization. Excellent communication skills with the ability to balance technical accuracy with business practicality.
