Welder 1We are looking for a Welder 1 (more of an entry-level MIG Welder) to join our team. A Welder 1 is responsible for performing MIG welding, layout, tacking, fabrication and building functions in the manufacture of various products in accordance with product specifications.Job Title: Welder 1 Location: Winsted, MN Salary Range: $23.06 – $27.03/hour Non-Exempt (In compliance with Minnesota Pay Transparency Law, this range reflects the anticipated compensation for this role. Actual pay may vary based on experience, education, and other factors.) Shift Schedule : 1st shift Monday - Thursday 5am - 3pm OR 2nd shift Monday – Thursday 3pm – 1am OR Weekend shift Friday – Sunday 5am - 5pm Shift Differential : 1st shift - N/A, 2nd shift - $1.50/hour, Weekend shift - $2.50/hourAs a Welder 1, you will:Perform the following GMAW welds: butt, V, Single bevel, and fillet welds on carbon steelPerform MIG welding tasks to Welding Procedures Specifications (WPS) and CWI inspection requirementsProduce welds that pass visual inspectionDemonstrates the ability to weld the above weld joints with either.045 and/or.062 diameter wiresProficient in print reading and understands weld symbols and welding gaugesRead and understand MMC's WPS's - select appropriate wire and shielding gas and weld within WPS weld parametersLayout and tack to specificationsUse grinder or other appropriate tools to clean, smooth out, grind or finish parts as neededUse various machines to fabricate, build, and design productsRepair improperly welded pieces and fill holesMonitor the production board and internal paperwork to perform tasks in the designated sequenceAccurately label all parts for routing to next operationEnter job data in production tracking systemUse crane, hoist, forklift or other material handling equipment to transport materials and product into and out of the work area as required.Must be AWS GMAW certifiedWelders employed with Millerbernd will have the opportunity to complete all weld certification requirements including AWS certifications within 14 days of employmentPerform work at the appropriate pace to maintain quality and productivity requirementsRole Qualifications as a Welder 1:Successful completion of internal welding test is mandatoryMIG Welding experience is preferredOther combinations of formal welding training and experience will be consideredProficient in welding techniques on flat, vertical and rotating planesOperational knowledge of Electric Plasma and Acetylene TorchProficient knowledge in interpreting blueprints, mechanical drawings, and weld symbolsAbility to operate hoists, cranes, and other powered industrial vehicles as neededAbility to operate various power and hand toolsKnowledge of weld positioners, turners, fixtures and equipmentWhy Millerbernd and Who We Are: We strive to create the best opportunities for our employees.
