Job Coach (Part-Time) – Wylie
Support students with disabilities in real job settings and help them build independence and confidence in the workplace.
Position Summary
Work Ready is seeking a part-time Job Coach to support high school students with mild to moderate disabilities who are participating in community-based Work Experience placements. The Job Coach assists students directly at local employer sites to help them learn job tasks, understand workplace expectations, and build independence.
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site support to students during their work shifts.
- Teach and reinforce job skills needed for workplace success.
- Model appropriate professional behavior and communication.
- Support students in problem-solving and understanding workplace expectations.
- Communicate observations, progress, and concerns to Work Ready staff as needed.
- Assist in developing strategies, accommodations, or prompts to increase independence.
- Represent Work Ready professionally at employer partner locations.
Schedule
Monday-Thursday
10:00-2:00 pm or 2:30-7:00 pm
Qualifications
Required:
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Completion of UNT WISE Job Skills Training (online certification).
Preferred Experience (not required):
- Special Education, Vocational Rehabilitation, Education, Coaching, Counseling, Mental Health, Social Work, Non-Profit, or other Human Services fields.
