Accountant Trainee - Telework Hybrid

Job Description and Duties

This position is located at the DMV Headquarters in Sacramento.

The Financial Services Branch is seeking to hire a dynamic, analytical, dependable, and customer-oriented professional to join our Special Funds Unit. This position works under the close supervision of the Accounting Administrator I of the Special Funds Unit. The Accountant Trainee is responsible for maintaining and reconciling one or more programs of the Local Agency Collection Fund, processing stale-dated undeliverable checks, preparing claim schedules, remittance advices, journal entries, check requests, and reviewing, analyzing, and reconciling program data to records posted to the Oracle system. The Accountant Trainee also monitors, investigates, and resolves problems and errors posted to the program by other departmental personnel, processes Suspense Receipts and Stop Payment Requests, provides analytical and technical support to supervisor and manager as needed, prepares other analysis and financial reports, and assists in the preparation of the year-end financial statement.

Working Conditions

Part-time telework available. Telework requires California residency. This position offers hybrid telework opportunities; however, telework arrangements are subject to change at any time based on State & departmental operational needs. Employees may be required to report to the office as necessary.
