You will actively participate in the full project cycle, from the design phase through the final construction close-out. WSP offers excellent growth opportunities.Your ImpactWork within multi-discipline project teams to develop drawings and specification documents for issuance to architects, contractors and building ownersCoordinate design activities with other multi-discipline project team membersDesign of electric distribution systemsDesign of fire alarm systemsDesign of lighting and lighting control systemsScheduling and selecting of electrical components and equipmentPerform electrical load, short circuit and voltage drop calculationsConstruction administrationInvolved from project inception to completion in the management of design and construction of electrical infrastructure projectAttend client and other stakeholder meetings. Interact with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients in a confident and professional mannerSupervise and mentor younger engineersExercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and proceduresPerform additional responsibilities as required by business needsWho You AreRequired QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.7+ years of relevant post education experience as an electrical engineer providing design deliverables for capital projects in power generation, transmission, and distribution at a utility, industrial, or commercial scale.Engineer license required preferred Extensive knowledge of building electrical infrastructure design.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Proficient with Knowledge of Revit. and AutoCAD.Knowledge of relevant engineering and electrical construction laws, energy codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.Interest in innovative design, specifically in renewable energies and sustainable, high performing buildings.Well-developed ability to make technical computations and calculations involving the application of electrical engineering principles, understanding plans and specifications, and making factual comparisons to the appropriate regulations.Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.Preferred Qualifications:New Construction and High Rise Building Design (Mix-use, Residential and Office)PE License or LEED AP certification is a plusKnowledge of AGI32 and SKM is a plus40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120) preferred.Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired.WSP Benefits: WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career.
