Job Description Hospital Communications Representative / Telecom Dispatcher / PBX at UW Medicine Operator Services. 40 hours per week, Night Shift (Tuesday to Saturday 11pm‑7:30am). Position Highlights Provide friendly voice to connect callers to their destination, supporting patient and family centered care at UWMC and HMC. Provide prompt courteous service using excellent communication skills with internal and external customers. Part of a team dedicated to supporting UW Medicine where patients are first. Department Description UW Medicine Telecom Team provides 24/7 coverage answering the UWMC and HMC switchboards. The team values excellent customer service, timely response, accurate dispatch and paging, and courteous processing of calls. Primary Job Responsibilities Answer all incoming calls to the main telephone numbers for the medical centers. Transfer external and internal calls. Provide visitor information and general customer service reception. Receive and dispatch all emergency communication calls including trauma codes, code blue, and other medical emergencies. Provide paging services for patients, staff, and medical providers. Monitor and respond to alarms. Requirements High School Diploma or GED and one year of experience as a Telephone Communications Operator or equivalent (six months additional experience may substitute for education). Excellent customer service skills. Ability to work in a team setting. Computer skills, including competent keyboard abilities. Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when legal requirements apply. Compensation & Benefits Pay Range: $21.63 – $26.63 hourly.
