Reconcile balance sheet accounts and review sales, cost of goods sold, and expense accounts for accuracy and make corrections as neededCompile and post monthly journal entriesAssist outside insurance, government & accounting auditorsSubstantiate financial transactions and reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information and supporting documentsAnswer accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulationsAssist in ad hoc analysisWork on special projects as neededMinimum QualificationsB.S. Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience5-10 years overall experience preferredCPA strongly preferredExperience in balance sheet account reconciliations requiredExperience with journal entries and month-end close requiredExperience working with intercompany transactions preferredExperience assisting with annual external audit preferredExperience working in a corporate accounting environment preferredKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesWorking knowledge of manual and automated accounting systems, preferably in a manufacturing/distribution environmentKnowledge and experience in accounting and financial disciplinesAdvanced level MS Excel userOverall proficiency in MS officeAbility to work in multiple ERP systemsWell organized with strong analytical and reasoning abilitiesAttention to detail required, must be a self-starter and have the ability to multi-taskExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsPhysical DemandsThis is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing may be required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment.
