Job Title

Surgical RN (with Scrub Abilities) – Operating Room

Key Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care across neonate through geriatric populations in pre-operative, intra-operative, PACU, and post-operative settings
• Performs all duties of both circulating RN and scrub RN, including patient positioning, prepping, draping, and surgical counts
• Communicates continuously with the surgeon and anesthesia provider regarding patient condition and clinical findings throughout all perioperative phases
• Assesses and reassesses patients for physiologic and behavioral changes, pain management needs, and cardio-respiratory status, documenting findings within shift
• Ensures pre-operative checklists are complete, surgical suites are prepared, and all equipment and supplies are ready prior to scheduled case start times
• Participates in performance improvement activities and assists with maintenance, sterilization, and inventory of surgical equipment and instruments

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an Associate, Diploma, or BSN degree required
• Active Idaho RN license or compact state RN license required upon hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within one year of hire
• Must be available for scheduled on-call coverage for emergency surgical services
• Basic computer skills with ability to navigate Windows-based programs

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Multiple years of surgical/operating room nursing experience strongly preferred
• Demonstrated competence in scrub RN duties in addition to circulating RN responsibilities
• Familiarity with instrument processing, sterilization techniques, and biological monitoring
