Dry End Group Lead

The Dry End Group Lead is responsible for managing all Dry End personnel, coordinating startups, shutdowns, and changeovers, and ensuring the process runs as efficiently as possible. They also monitor product quality and communicate any quality issues to the Wet End Group Lead.

Qualifications:

• Internal certification in safe use of forklifts
• Internal certification in safe use of overhead cranes
• Internal certification in use of trash compactor
• Ability to use utility knife and common hand tools safely
• Ability to read tape measure with decimal and fraction scale
• Ability to use a micrometer thickness gauge and barcol tester
• Ability to use line equipment control
• Ability to use basic math skills
• Ability to use Microsoft Windows and KBM
• Certified in Panel Checker, Treadmill Operator, and Cut Down Relief Operator

Primary Functions:

• Perform and record weight checks to monitor product quality and run efficiency
• Assess other panel quality parameters such as width, length, corrugation, and square
• Review production run sheets for special instructions
• Troubleshoot upset conditions with the help of the maintenance, technical, or production teams
• Set up the lines for startups, including trim boards, trim guides, trim saws or slitters, and counters
• Complete all reports and forms in a timely manner, including production recaps, inspection reports, real time reject entries, cut down forms, and coil maps
• Ensure grading criteria are adhered to
• Coordinate all Dry End personnel to efficiently perform all startups, shutdowns, and changeovers
• Manage the breaks for all Dry End personnel considering workload by position and time management constraints
• Manage the training for all new Dry End personnel
• Communicate effectively to the wet end and the packaging department to ensure efficient operation
• Delegate other tasks as necessary, such as trash disposal or TPM activities
• Ensure all Dry End personnel are able to adequately perform their job duties. Contact the Production Supervisor for any barriers preventing efficient job performance
