Security Officer - North Hollywood

Work Location North Hollywood, CA, USA – Fully On-Site Work Schedule Monday - Friday 2:30 pm - 11 pm; may include weekends and holidays. Salary Range $27.00 - $34.33 per hour. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Serving at UCLA Health offers a valuable opportunity to apply your specialized skills in fostering the well-being of patients, their families, and colleagues within the UCLA Health system. You will provide essential support that facilitates the healing process. In this capacity, you will be responsible for safeguarding all assets, staff, and visitors in and around the North Hollywood Clinic. Security officers are expected to conduct routine patrols, document all activities and incidents, and may assume leadership roles or perform other duties as assigned. You will enforce all applicable policies and state laws, adhere strictly to all guidelines, including those stipulated by state regulatory agencies. Ensuring the security of the staff after hours by properly securing the premises is also part of your responsibilities. Job Qualifications Current certification: Guard Card, Chemical Agent, California driver’s license, and BLS Certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross). Clear and concise communication skills. Ability to complete continual training classes as required (training provided). Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with Primary & Specialty Care employees, management, security management, local law enforcement, and surrounding community. Resolve issues independently within set policies and procedures. Use available resources to solve problems. Operate security-related equipment and general office equipment. Diplomatic public appearance and rapport. Professional written and verbal information relay. Understand public relations aspects and effects on the organization. Assess emergencies and execute appropriate solutions based on guidelines or policies. Knowledge of all Security Program operational policies and guidelines. Understand applicable geography to expedite calls. Know penal and radio codes and language used in radio communications. Physical ability to handle intervention incidents, including patient restraints and violent subjects. Perform sustained foot patrols, prolonged standing, lifting patients, and restraining as necessary. Visual and hearing abilities to detect and report unusual circumstances quickly. Working knowledge of security practices, protocols and techniques. Required to hold a valid driver’s license, have a driving record in accordance with local policies, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program. As a condition of employment, the final candidate who accepts an offer of employment will be required to disclose any administrative or judicial decisions within the last seven years determining that they committed any misconduct, or submit an appeal of a finding of substantiated misconduct with a previous employer.
