Job Title: RN - Med/Surg Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical-Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital Med/Surg experience License: Active RN license Certifications: BLS required; Chemo certification and ACLS preferred Must-Have: Candidates must have a minimum of 1-year current acute care hospital Med/Surg experience and BLS certification. Description: This is a travel RN position in the Med/Surg specialty. The unit has a focus on oncology care and general surgery. There are 24 beds with a staffing of 19 members, including 6 new nurses onboarding. During the day shift, the unit operates with 1 charge nurse, 5 nurses, and an Admin Care Technician, while the night shift consists of 1 charge nurse and 5 nurses when full. Patient ratios are approximately 1 nurse for every 5 patients. The EMR system used is Meditech. Chemotherapy can only be administered by chemo-certified nurses. We are looking for candidates with a positive attitude who are willing to work as part of a team. The unit provides standard medical-surgical care along with chemotherapy administration. Team dynamics are strong, and we pride ourselves on a supportive environment for new staff. There is a focus on team collaboration, and the facility promotes nurse input on patient care. Nurses are equipped with an iPhone nursing system for immediate communication with the care team. The unit is recognized for its quality of care and has a reputation for being a pleasant workplace.
