Office Engineer

Office Engineer – Full Time – Glastonbury, CT Overview Tectonic Engineering Consultants is seeking a full‑time Office Engineer for upcoming infrastructure projects across the region. Essential Functions Prepare and maintain project documentation and correspondence using ConnDOT approved filing systems. Review requirements, plans, specifications, and contract documents. Receive technical submittals, RFIs, memos, letters, construction orders, estimates, and drawings, and prepare contractor pay estimates. Track quantities, reconcile daily inspection reports, and related documentation. Review and monitor contract compliance items (subcontract approval, wage checks, insurance, labor reports, etc.). Perform site inspections to obtain field measurements, review records, attend required meetings, and prepare minutes. Complete other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of relevant experience; ConnDOT or other DOT experience on federally funded projects is desired. BS Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent; valid NICET Level II or higher preferred. Ability to perform complex quantity and engineering computations, and to review and interpret plans and specifications. Ability to prepare change orders, material testing reports, file and maintain project records. Demonstrated administration using Site Manager and/or Project Wise. Excellent computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle for site inspections. Physical Requirements Stationary position for extended periods. Handle, inspect, and feel documents, materials and equipment. Communicate via email and telephone. Occasionally move around job site, climb ladders, and access testing materials. Lift up to 10 lbs as needed. Good visual skills for inspections.
