Tax Accountant - Contract to hire.

Location: New Kensington, PA
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (additional hours may be required during tax season)

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Tax Accountant to join their growing team in New Kensington, PA. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with firm leadership while supporting a diverse client base with tax preparation, accounting services, and financial reporting needs. The ideal candidate has experience preparing individual and business tax returns and enjoys working in a collaborative public accounting environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and file individual (1040), partnership, and corporate tax returns.
• Perform tax preparation and tax accounting activities during busy tax seasons.
• Utilize QuickBooks to support client bookkeeping, accounting, and tax preparation functions.
• Review financial information and ensure accuracy and compliance with tax regulations.
• Work closely with firm leadership on client engagements and tax planning initiatives.
• Assist clients with accounting, tax, and financial reporting needs.
• Maintain organized and accurate client records and documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience preparing individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks is required.
• Public accounting experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong tax preparation experience will be considered in lieu of public accounting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred; candidates with relevant accounting coursework and demonstrated tax expertise will also be considered.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, especially during peak tax seasons.
• Interest in building a long-term career in public accounting and pursuing CPA certification is a plus.

Pay Details: $26.00 to $29.00 per hour
