Route Sales & Service Technician Level II

Role Overview We are looking for a route sales & service level II technician who has a passion for the customer and life safety. The ideal candidate loves people, is sales‑oriented, and can successfully perform inspection, installation, testing, service, and repair on fire extinguishers, exit/emergency lights, and kitchen hood suppression systems. This includes confirming compliance with applicable life‑safety and fire‑safety requirements as mandated by standards and codes, manufacturer requirements, federal, state and local ordinances, customer requirements, and the expectations and requirements of the company. Troubleshoot and repair fire extinguishers, exit/emergency lights, and kitchen hood suppression systems. Record and document all inspections, repairs, discrepancies, and recommendations electronically or manually. Maintain a positive customer relationship and communicate information to appropriate personnel for follow‑up, quotes, questions, or concerns. Maintain the vehicle in a clean, orderly fashion and keep it stocked with necessary parts, equipment, and supplies. Maintain all equipment and tools required for safe job execution. Evaluate customer sites for additional equipment and services that may be required. Work in compliance with the company’s safety program. Explain deficiencies and resolutions to customers. Be prepared for work at nights, weekends, or holidays when required. Be comfortable working at heights, on ladders or lifts, or in confined spaces. Qualifications 1‑3 years of route sales and service experience in the fire life‑safety industry, focusing on extinguishers, e‑lights, and hood suppression systems. Ability to perform basic math calculations, including fractions, decimals, and percentages. Proficiency with basic computer functions, operating systems, and applications such as Windows, Word, Apple iOS, Android, Outlook, and industry‑specific devices and software. Valid U.S. driver’s license. Ideal Qualities 3‑5 years of route sales and service experience in the fire life‑safety industry, with a concentration in extinguishers, e‑lights, and hood suppression systems. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Overtime may be required; hours may vary based on location. The work environment can range from hot to cold temperatures and may involve dust exposure. You may need to travel overnight to customer locations. You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and frequently carry toolboxes, equipment, parts, tools, cabling, and wiring. The role involves ladder climbing, checking, pulling wire, walking, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, and reaching overhead. Driving is required; time spent driving may vary.
