Registered Nurse – Telemetry / Post-Op (2 North)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM) | Onsite | Projected Start: June 19, 2026

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 24-bed Med-Surg/Telemetry unit with a 1:6 patient ratio on night shift
• Perform telemetry monitoring, post-operative care, and routine procedures including daily weights, vital signs, intake/output, hourly rounding, and bedside report
• Manage IV starts, foley care, nasogastric tubes, wound care, and operation of wound VAC systems (KCI & Prevena)
• Administer and monitor cardiac drips, heparin drips, CBI, PCA pumps, epidural pumps, and Ambit pain pumps
• Complete patient admissions and discharges independently; perform phototherapy as indicated
• Float to ICU as needed for Med-Surg overflow patients; adhere to every-other-weekend and holiday scheduling requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Texas
• Telemetry experience required
• Post-operative care experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Proficiency or ability to learn Meditech Expanse (PCS) EMR
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2 or more years of RN experience in a telemetry or Med-Surg setting
• PALS and NIH Stroke Scale certifications
• Self-motivated, takes initiative, and demonstrates strong team-player qualities
