Medical Laboratory Technician-PRN

Position Overview Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) – responsible for conducting a variety of tests on patient samples (blood, body fluids, cells, tissue, etc.) to detect presence or absence of health conditions. Uses biomedical instrumentation, microscopes and computers to analyze samples and provides data to physicians for diagnosis and treatment. Position Details Department: Core Lab Core Function: Laboratory Schedule: PRN Days Facility: St. Joseph’s Hospital Location: Highland, IL Scheduled Weekly Hours: 0 Qualifications Education : Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college/university with courses in biological science, chemistry, and mathematics, and successful completion of a NAACLS-accredited MLS or Medical Technologist (MT) program OR a MLT program accredited by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) and a bachelor's degree with 2 years full‑time lab experience in an accredited lab. Experience : Experience in an accredited lab is preferred. Certifications : Medical Laboratory Scientist, Medical Technologist, or eligibility for certification by a nationally recognized certifying agency such as: American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel (NCA) American Medical Technologies (AMT) Department of Health, Education and Welfare (HEW) or other laboratory certifying agency Certification must be received within 180 days of hire. Colleagues hired prior to January 1, 2020 are exempt. Preferred : Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) certification. Compensation Pay Range: $24.31 - $36.47 per hour (actual rate based on experience, skills, training, certifications, and education).
