Packaging Associate

Job Description:
Title: Packaging Associate
Location: Saint Joseph, MO 64507
Duration: 0-3+ Months
Pay Rate: $18.00/hour on W2
Shift: 1st Shift 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Manually erect cases, pack products, and stack finished cases on pallets.
• Operate and monitor production lines to ensure smooth and continuous operation.
• Handle production components and ensure the correct materials are used.
• Operate pallet jacks and other warehouse/production equipment safely.
• Verify product components, coding, and labels against the current production recipe.
• Monitor product quality and report damaged or out-of-spec products to Quality Control.
• Perform continuous cleaning and line adjustments to maintain efficient production.
• Recommend maintenance, repairs, or process changes when needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by removing clutter and debris.
• Follow all required PPE and safety procedures.
• Maintain warehouse/production equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Communicate production issues and concerns to the Plant Manager or appropriate personnel.
• Maintain dependable attendance and report to work on time.
• Perform additional production and operational duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.

Qualifications

• Must be physically capable of standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to read and understand production documents, SDS, and safety information.
• Previous production or mechanical experience is preferred/helpful.
• Workers must provide their own steel-toe/composite-toe safety boots or shoes.

Physical Requirements

• Lift 40-60 lbs, approximately 20-30 times per hour.
• Stand and work on feet for 8-9 hours per day.
• Perform frequent bending throughout the shift.
• Minimal climbing may be required.
• Work in temperatures between 70-90°F.
• Work in an environment with minimal dust and good lighting.

PPE Requirements

• Steel-toe or composite-toe safety boots/shoes are required.
• Safety glasses must be worn at all times.
• Gloves are required when formulating active materials.
• Gloves are required as needed for material handling.
• Hearing protection must be used when required by operating equipment.
• Client provides gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
