Position Overview: Sleep Technologist (RPSGT)

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Testing & Data Collection: Facilitate sleep studies, prepare testing equipment, fit airway pressure masks, and accurately record clinical activities.

• Procedures & Calibration: Follow standard polysomnographic procedures, including proper application of electrodes and sensors, equipment calibration, and patient setup.

• Scoring & Analysis: Analyze and score clinical events (e.g., respiratory and cardiac episodes) and tabulate final data for physician review.

• Compliance & Safety: Maintain strict adherence to regulatory standards, safety controls, and healthcare laws.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent (higher education preferred); completion of an accredited Polysomnography program.

• Certifications:

  • Active RPSGT (Registered Polysomnographic Technologist) or RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) credential.

  • Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification.

• Health Requirements: Up-to-date vaccination/immunization records or titers as required.

Physical Demands

• Movement & Mobility: Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear.

• Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands to operate specialized clinical and office equipment.

• Vision: Clear close, distance, and peripheral vision, with the ability to adjust focus.

• Lifting Requirements: Regularly lift/move up to 10 lbs, frequently up to 25 lbs, and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
