Senior Project Accountant

OVERVIEW We are seeking a Senior Accountant to manage accounting for mega- and large-scale projects in the Transportation Group located in Cincinnati, OH. The role is independent and works closely with project staff, the Accounting Manager, and the Controller. RESPONSIBILITIES Review and process subcontracts, subcontract change orders, and performance and payment bonds to ensure compliance with specified terms. Collect and review subcontractor/supplier lien waivers. Collect, review, and process subcontractor/supplier monthly project invoices, ensuring proper accrual to correct cost reports and phase codes. Ensure timely payments to all subcontractors and major suppliers. Maintain a strong understanding of the Walsh cost report and related accounting functions. Understand the Walsh monthly P&L process, submit project P&Ls promptly, and review them for accuracy. Process cost transfers on project cost reports for Project Management staff. Perform in-depth monthly analysis of owner billing and prepare owner billing independently, when applicable. Collect, review, and submit monthly owner billings to the Accounting Manager or Controller for processing. Monitor cash flow, communicate with project staff about tracking A/R, and report payment status. Work independently to manage accounting operations for mega-projects or multiple large projects. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a business-related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in construction accounting or a related field.
