Job Overview Fusion Medical Staffing‑Nursing is seeking a travel Registered Nurse (RN) for an Operating Room (OR) assignment in Dallas, Texas. The role is a 13‑week travel assignment. Job Details Specialty: OR – Operating Room Discipline: RN Start Date: 06/23/2026 Duration: 13 weeks Hours: 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Responsibilities Prepare the operating room by ensuring all required instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are ready and functional for each surgical procedure. Assist in positioning and preparing patients for surgery, addressing concerns and ensuring comfort and safety according to procedural requirements. Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures and adhere to infection control protocols and sterile technique. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team, providing instruments, supplies, and support promptly to maintain efficient workflow. Monitor the patient’s condition during surgery, documenting significant changes and notifying the surgeon. Handle surgical instruments and supplies, ensuring proper use, sterilization, and disposal according to facility protocols. Manage specimen collection, labeling, and transport according to facility protocols to ensure accurate diagnostic results. Document all aspects of patient care in the perioperative setting accurately and thoroughly. Participate in patient handoff communication during pre‑ and post‑operative phases to ensure continuity of care. Assist in cleaning and restocking the operating room between cases, adhering to infection control and turnover protocols. Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure compliance with facility policies, procedures, and standards. Follow hospital safety rules and procedures, including proper use of PPE and infection prevention measures. Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice. Required Qualifications One year of recent experience as an Operating Room RN. Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations. Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC). Preferred Qualifications ACLS (AHA/ARC), PALS (AHA/ARC), or ENPC certifications. OR Nursing Certification (CNOR). Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position. Required Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills. Ability to read, write, and communicate in English. Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills. Physical abilities: remain in a stationary position, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend. Interpersonal skills: work effectively with a variety of personnel to present a positive attitude and professionalism. Technical/motor skills: perform fine manipulation and assist with procedures and/or equipment use. Mental requirements: cope with frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work under close supervision or independently, handle irregular schedules, and maintain concentration to detail.
