Mental Health Clinician

Licensed Mental Health CounselorAction Staffing Solutions is seeking experienced and compassionate licensed mental health counselors in southern Colorado. Essential duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.Assigned case load will consist primarily of inmates with moderate to high mental health treatment needs.Develop Mental Health treatment plans to serve as the basis for treatment.Provide individual and group therapy.Perform routine mental health assessments and interviews to determine progress.Update diagnosis and psychiatric needs levels.Refer inmates to psychology for more complex psychological assessment.Provide information to psychiatry to include client history, previous diagnoses, and alternative treatment available.Assures both emergency and non-emergency transfer for inmates experiencing acute mental health crisis.Renders clinical direction to non-clinical staff in mental health care and treatment of inmates.Assures continuity of care for inmates by making appropriate referral and providing necessary information and documentation for transition to receiving units, facilities, or agencies.Minimum Qualifications:One year of counseling experience; prior experience with crisis intervention, suicide risk assessments and mental health counseling with an inmate population preferred.Valid and unrestricted State of Colorado registration as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist or candidate credentials.BLS/CPR certification and current valid driver's license is requiredMaster's degree from an accredited program in a counseling specialtyRequirements:Must be 21 years of ageMust complete the onboarding and hiring process including application(s), documents, competency testing, training, background investigation(s) and drug screeningBackgrounds must be clear of any felony convictionsImmunization Records – Hep B, TB test/chest x-ray, influenza for the current season. COVID-19 vaccination is not required but is encouraged.Must maintain all required licenses, certifications, and health records.Resume with 10 full years of employment (explanation of gaps such as education is accepted)Language: Ability to read, write and communicate in the English language requiredMust have excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to assess situations to make independent, policy compliant decisionsMust have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to serve the incarcerated population with empathy, while staying objective and assertive.
