Toms River CBOC, VA New Jersey Health Care System — 1051 Hooper Avenue, Toms River, NJ 08755  |  Full-Time  |  Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM EST (8-hour shift, 1⁄2-hour unpaid break)

Position Overview

We are seeking two full-time, on-site MRI Technologists to support the Radiology service at the VA New Jersey Health Care System's Toms River CBOC under VA task order 36C24226Q0770. This role performs the full range of MRI examinations for Veteran patients at a single, fixed clinic location.

Key Responsibilities

•      Perform diagnostic MRI examinations across all body regions per ordering-physician protocol.

•      Apply specialized knowledge of radio-frequency surface coils required for each anatomical area imaged.

•      Administer contrast media and operate power injectors in accordance with State and Federal regulations.

•      Maintain magnetic-environment safety for patients, visitors, and equipment; may perform basic MR safety program duties.

•      Apply cross-sectional anatomy knowledge as it relates to soft tissue and vascular structures.

•      Prepare and transmit digital images via PACS for radiologist interpretation.

•      Document care in the VA electronic health record (CPRS/VistA) and communicate delays or scheduling conflicts to the COR.

Qualifications & Experience

•      Current, full, and unrestricted state license in Radiologic Technology.

•      ARRT certification in general radiologic technology (R), plus advanced ARRT certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) for independent-duty assignments.

•      Minimum 3 years of experience performing MRI procedures at the advanced-modality level.

•      Working knowledge of superconducting magnet physics and magnetic-environment safety factors.

•      Current BLS certification.

•      VHA MRI Safety Training Level 1 (or ability to complete upon onboarding).

•      Ability to pass VA credentialing/privileging review and a two-week on-site clinical assessment prior to independent duty.

Compensation

$60–$68/hour, depending on experience and certifications. Local, on-site position — no travel or per diem allowances apply.
