OverviewThe Construction Sales Representative is responsible for developing and maintaining customer relationships, generating new business opportunities, and supporting project coordination to ensure successful execution.
This role plays a critical part in building recurring business, managing customer communication, and supporting operational alignment from initial customer contact through project completion. The position requires a proactive approach to sales, strong organizational skills, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development and Customer Relationships
- Establish, develop, and maintain relationships with new and existing customers to build a strong base of recurring business
- Actively pursue leads, manage customer pipelines, and generate new opportunities
- Meet with customers to assess project needs, scope, and timelines
- Provide timely follow-up and maintain consistent communication to ensure client satisfaction
Sales and Proposal Support
- Develop and deliver competitive quotes aligned with project scope and customer expectations
- Ensure accuracy, responsiveness, and professionalism in all customer proposals
- Support pricing efforts to balance competitiveness with company performance goals
Project Planning and Coordination
- Coordinate with Operations to align schedules, equipment, and personnel for upcoming work
- Support development of site-specific planning documentation to ensure efficient execution
- Partner with field leadership and project teams to ensure alignment between customer expectations and field delivery
Project Execution and Accountability
- Support projects from award through completion to ensure customer requirements and company deliverables are met
- Maintain strong communication with customers throughout project lifecycle
- Identify and address issues proactively to support successful outcomes
Records, Systems, and Financial Support
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, project activity, and sales data
- Utilize company systems, including CRM and NexGen, to track opportunities and performance
- Support collections and accounts receivable processes as needed

- Consistent outreach and follow-up on leads and customer opportunities
- Timely and accurate quote delivery
- Revenue performance aligned with monthly targets
Quarterly
- Strong client retention and satisfaction
- Conversion of proposals to awarded work
- Effective support of collections and receivables
Annual
- Year-over-year growth in assigned customer base or territory
- Expansion of recurring business relationships
- Achievement of performance and profitability expectations
- Contribution to overall company growth and operational success
- Bachelor’s degree in business, construction management, engineering, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience
- Demonstrated ability to manage customer relationships and sales activity in a construction or related environment
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to read and interpret project documents, drawings, and specifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
- Experience with CRM systems or construction management software (such as NexGen) preferred
- Experience in steel erection, construction services, or related industry preferred
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving

- Primarily office-based with regular interaction with customers and operations teams
- Occasional jobsite visits may be required
