Job 180274 - Clinic Registered Nurse- (RN) Coquille, OR The Clinic Nurse is responsible for the provision of patient care in the clinic setting. Provides direct and indirect patient care that reflects a deliberate problem solving approach, and excellent practical and technical skills. Collaborates and cooperates with peers, staff, and physicians on nursing problems and interpretation of CVH policies to ensure patient needs are met. Interacts with patients and the health care team demonstrating respect, caring, a professional attitude, and maintains positive relationships. Reports to the Clinic Manager. Requirements Education and Experience Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required, an associate's degree in nursing (A.D.N.), or bachelor’s degree in nursing (B.S.N.) preferred. Experience One or more years of previous experience in acute care preferred. License/ Certification Current Oregon Registered Nurse licensure required at date of hire. Current BLS (Basic Life Support) at date of hire. ACLS preferred. Duties and Responsibilities Observe patients. Monitor vital signs using computerized equipment and physical assessments. Record patients' medical information, vital signs, and progress. Discuss cases with doctors and other medical staff. Advise and consult with staff about ways to prevent infection. Manage care plans for patients. Give patients treatments and medications. Maintain stock of supplies. Coordinate care with ancillary staff such as Lab, Physical Therapy, Medical Imaging, Respiratory Therapy, etc. Prepare patients and assist with exams. Provide patient education about their health condition, treatment and after care. Provide discharge planning as necessary: Decide as soon as the patient is admitted where the patient needs to be placed after being cared for. Arrange for in home health care, equipment for example hospital bed, walkers, oxygen; coordinate with the medical equipment agencies and businesses. Interact with Pharmacy to mix medications, pass meds, pull drugs from pharmacy check and fill drug cart. Other Skills Strong problem solving, decision making and time management skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Proficient in use of computer including MS Office applications. Ability to manage complex operations and diverse personnel. Ability to effectively collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
