Salary: $95,139.00 - $130,832.00 Annually Application Deadline: Aug 31, 2026 Type: Full Time Salary/Pay Rate: $95,139 - $130,832 Annually, plus excellent benefits Posted Date: 07/30/2026 10:40 AM Deadline to Apply: 08/31/2026 TheUtilities Engineer performs advanced engineering work for theWater/Wastewater utility systems, including planning, design review, capital project delivery, construction administration, regulatory coordination, and technical review of public utility infrastructure. This position serves as the City’s in-house engineering resource for assigned utility projects and works closely with City departments, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, biological/agricultural engineering, or a closely related engineering field from an accredited program. Possession of Engineer in Training (EIT) or ability to obtain it within six (6) months. Two years of relevant engineering experience involving civil infrastructure, water, wastewater, utilities, development review, construction administration, capital project delivery, or similar public infrastructure work. Experience coordinating consultants, contractors, developers, regulatory agencies, or internal technical teams. Valid NC driver’s license or valid out-of-state driver’s license with the ability to obtain a valid NC driver’s license within sixty days of employment and good driving record Work Schedule Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm. Paid bi-weekly. Must be able to attend meetings as required Closing Date All applicants must provide accurate information on the City’s application for each position application.
