Responsibilities
- Assess patients from pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing standardized tests and observational methods.
- Create tailored treatment plans that address both immediate goals and extensive communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions concentrating on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Collaborate with a range of professionals including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and family members to devise unified care plans.
- Provide educational resources to patients and families to facilitate progress beyond organized clinical interactions.
- Support occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and treatments to ensure seamless patient care throughout their rehabilitation journey.
- Keep meticulous and timely records in accordance with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
- Engage in continuous learning and share insights with peers to stay abreast of advancements in the field.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet obtained.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first 30 days of employment.
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment strategies for individuals across all age ranges, paired with a deep understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing challenges.
- Outstanding interpersonal communication abilities with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams.
- Adeptness in adjusting therapeutic techniques to cater to diverse cultural and linguistic requirements.
- Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation norms.
