Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (Kerr County MH Center) Help us help others: Licensed ChemicalDependency Counselor (LCDC) of Co-occurring Psychiatric and Substance UseDisorder (COPSD). The LCDC is responsible for providing services and support toindividuals with co-occurringneeds to assist the individual in reachingtheir vision of recovery. The LCDC will assess the individual's strengthsandneeds and, in collaboration with the individual, develop aperson-centered recovery plan. Services are targeted to deterthe need for a crisis that results in emergency placement in Medical or Behavioral HealthFacilities or in the Court and Jailsystem.The LCDC isresponsible for scheduling and carrying out individual and groupservicesand case management. LCDC may also provide services as an Outpatient Counselorunder the guidelinesdescribed in the DSHS/HHSC Program Requirements. You will get to: Ensure that everyone admitted to outpatientservicesis appropriate and has a written justification to support theadmission. Ensure treatment includes individualtreatmentplanning based on a comprehensive assessment, educationaland process groups, and individual counseling. Servicesare providedin a licensed facility. Ensure that clients are referred to RecoverySupport Services (Recovery Checkups,Life Skills Classes, andRecovery Coaching) as needed. Completescreenings, assessments, andtreatment planning, and engage clients in ongoing treatment Utilize peers as much aspossible insupporting and coaching clients in their recovery. Ensure that treatment plans are person-directedandinclude strategies for recovery. You'll definitely need: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social, behavioral, or human services with the ability to be credentialed as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP-CS) Must have a current Texas state-issued LCDC License or be positioned to obtain it within 90 days of hire. Minimum 2 years of experiencein the MentalHealth and Substance Abuse field Maintain valid Texas state Driver's License and auto insurance. Complete and maintain both CPR certification and Prevention and Management of Aggressive Behavior training within the first 3 months of employment We'll also want you to: Identify gaps in processes and work closely withother departments for process improvement Demonstrated ability to listen skillfully andcollect relevant information Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent organizational skills and attention todetail Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivateand encourage others Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or relatedsoftware Comfortable working with technology and can easilynavigate new technology platforms Efficiently move through a to-do list andeffectively prioritize and triage competing demands Passion for connecting individuals and familieswith excellent care Can successfully work remotely Sustain a calm demeanor when under pressure tohandle sometimes difficult situations. Provide exemplary customer service and care toyour team. Work autonomously to complete assignments. Work cooperatively with others and be punctual andconsistent in attendance because your people will rely on you!
