This is an exciting opportunity to become a vital part of our operations team as a Yard Operator. You will play a key role in the efficient and safe movement of materials within our yard, ensuring smooth and timely operations. Your work directly impacts our ability to meet customer demands and maintain a productive work environment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts to move, load, and unload materials.
• Manage the yard's organization, ensuring efficient space utilization and safe traffic flow.
• Maintain accurate inventory records, tracking materials and supplies.
• Handle materials with care, preventing damage and loss.
• Perform loading and unloading duties, adhering to safety regulations.
• Comply with all OSHA safety procedures and regulations.
• Conduct regular vehicle inspections to maintain equipment functionality and safety.
• Communicate effectively with team members and other departments.
• Contribute to a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications
Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience

• Minimum of one year of experience operating forklifts and other heavy equipment.
• Experience in a yard or warehouse environment is preferred.

Knowledge/Skills

• Proficient in forklift operation and other heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of inventory management principles and practices.
• Understanding of material handling techniques.
• Familiarity with safety procedures , specifically OSHA regulations.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory tracking.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS).
• Certification in forklift operation.
• Experience with yard management software.

Physical Requirements/Work Conditions

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
