US-President's Office – Operations Manager, Business and Strategy Washington, DC, USA Job Description Title: Operations Manager Division: Office of the President Department: Operations Status: Full‑time, Exempt (eligible to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship) Level: Manager Direct Reports: N/A Position Purpose The Operations Manager is responsible for the administration, coordination, and optimization of CASE’s operational and business development infrastructure, supporting enterprise‑wide initiatives that advance organizational effectiveness and revenue growth. Reporting to the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (EVP/COO), this role exercises independent judgment on matters of organizational significance, including project governance, operational workflows, performance metrics, and cross‑functional coordination. Essential Functions Administers enterprise‑level project management for priority operational and business development initiatives, establishing planning frameworks, timelines, accountability structures, and performance benchmarks. Develops and maintains dashboards, reports, and analytical tools to evaluate project health, resource alignment, risks, and execution progress, and interprets results to inform leadership decision‑making. Advises project leaders and senior management on project dependencies, prioritization, and operational impacts, identifying issues requiring escalation or intervention. Establishes and implements mechanisms for reviewing project milestones and organizational performance metrics to support consistent execution across departments. Operations & Business Development Management Designs, evaluates, and optimizes operational processes supporting CASE’s business development and revenue‑generating activities. Oversees the operational administration of proposals, presentations, and business development deliverables, coordinating cross‑functional inputs and assessing operational feasibility and readiness. Determines coordination strategies, workflows, and documentation standards to support efficient collaboration across internal and external stakeholders. Monitors operational performance and execution metrics, providing insights and recommendations to leadership regarding process improvement and scalability. Strategic Support & Advisory Role Partners with the EVP/COO and senior staff to translate strategic priorities into operational plans, identifying risks, dependencies, and execution considerations. Supports the implementation of organizational objectives outlined in the CASE Strategic Plan by aligning operational processes and project governance structures. Maintains a comprehensive understanding of CASE’s organizational structure, culture, systems, and interdependencies to anticipate operational needs and challenges. Stakeholder Coordination & Organizational Liaison Serves as an administrative liaison across CASE divisions, regions, and global colleagues to ensure alignment and clarity of responsibilities. Leads cross‑functional operational discussions and forums related to project execution, business development activities, and strategic initiatives. Engages with senior volunteers, members, contractors, and external stakeholders as appropriate, exercising discretion, diplomacy, and confidentiality. Incorporates tasks related to the CASE Strategic Plan as directed. Image Responsibilities Ensures CASE is represented professionally, accurately, and ethically in all activities, services, and products. Problem Solving and Judgment Requires high level judgement and problem‑solving skills to handle situations requiring immediate action, involving multiple stakeholders and complex inquiries. Professional and Organizational Knowledge Deep understanding of CASE, its policies, procedures, and culture. Respect for the organization’s systems and workflow.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations management, marketing, or related field. 3–5 years of progressive experience in operations management, project management, business operations, or related professional roles supporting organizational leadership. Demonstrated experience administering complex projects, operational processes, or enterprise initiatives. Skills and Abilities Interest in advancing education in the not‑for‑profit sector. Commitment to diversity and inclusion. Ability to engage with a broad range of cultures and countries. Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, for interacting with diverse stakeholders. Proficiency in project management tools, CRM software, and Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel preferred; familiarity with Smartsheet and HubSpot a plus. Analytical mindset for gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data to drive decisions. Detail‑oriented, focusing on quality, accuracy, and precision. Proactive attitude, taking initiative and driving results.
