Senior Interior Designer

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Senior Interior Designer to join its team in Collegeville, PA. This is a fully onsite position requiring attendance five days per week.

The Senior Interior Designer will manage projects from initial client consultation through final installation, creating customized interior design solutions for optical retail and healthcare environments. This role combines design expertise, client management, project coordination, space planning, AutoCAD drafting, and collaboration with sales, manufacturing, and installation teams to ensure exceptional client experiences and successful project execution.

Responsibilities

Client & Project Management

• Manage client projects from concept through post-installation.
• Maintain ongoing communication with clients to ensure satisfaction.
• Support sales representatives during presentations and client meetings.
• Coordinate project timelines and deliverables across departments.
• Maintain accurate project records and client communication within CRM systems.

Design & Space Planning

• Develop creative design concepts based on client goals, specifications, and budgets.
• Create space plans, furniture layouts, ceiling plans, lighting designs, and finish selections.
• Present design options and recommendations to clients.
• Assist clients with final design selections and approvals.

Technical Design & Documentation

• Produce detailed 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD.
• Create construction documents for contractors, architects, and clients.
• Revise drawings and project documentation based on client feedback.
• Generate building plans and project layouts from architectural shells and floor plans.

Coordination & Administration

• Coordinate finish sample requests and material selections.
• Assist with purchase orders and product ordering.
• Respond promptly to contractor and client inquiries.
• Work closely with manufacturing, installation, sales, and customer service teams.

Industry Knowledge & Continuous Improvement

• Stay current on design trends, materials, finishes, and industry innovations.
• Maintain design resource libraries and vendor relationships.
• Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design.
• Minimum 5 years of professional interior design experience.
• Strong commercial interior design and space planning experience.
• Advanced AutoCAD proficiency with experience producing 2D and 3D drawings.
• Strong understanding of design principles, materials, finishes, and specifications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and client presentation skills.

Preferred

• Experience supporting sales teams in a design-focused environment.
• Experience creating purchase orders and managing project documentation.
• Experience in retail, healthcare, showroom, commercial office, or specialty commercial design environments.
