Senior Laboratory Assistant - Microbiology at Providence St. Joseph Hospital Orange in Orange, CA. This position is Full-time and will work 8-hour, Day shifts.

Under the direction and supervision of the Division Supervisor/Manager, the Sr Lab Assistant ensures accurate and timely drawing, receipt, centrifugation, and delivery of laboratory specimens to appropriate departments and reference labs. Staff duties may include specimen collection (Phlebotomy), receiving, accessioning, plating and set up (Processing, Microbiology, Pathology), and loading specimens on instruments and basic instrument maintenance (Chemistry, Hematology, Pathology).

Required Qualifications:

• Upon hire: California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I License or
• Upon hire: California Certified Phlebotomy Technician II License.
• 1 year experience as a Phlebotomist or Lab Assistant performing blood specimen collections, specimen processing, centrifuging and handling send out specimens to other Laboratories, or experience in working in a laboratory division.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 years' experience in blood specimen collections.
• 2 years' experience performing specimen processing, centrifuging and handling send out specimens to other laboratories, or working in a laboratory division.

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors.
