Job Location: Wellness Clinic Youth Center (Excelsior Springs, MO - Kansas City Metro Area)

Position: Physician (Contract/1099/Independent Contractor)

Overview:

The wellness center is situated within a no-cost educational and vocational training program overseen by the U.S. Department of Labor. This initiative aims to enhance the lives of adolescents and young adults through academic and career technical training. Clinic hours are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with an immediate start available.

Position Responsibilities:

The clinic manages a variety of primary and acute care services, including:

Conducting school physical examinations, addressing minor sports injuries, managing hypertension, diabetes, ADHD, GERD, UTIs, URIs, STDs, sprains, allergies, wellness assessments, and sick visits.
Collaborating with mid-level providers, medical staff, wellness personnel, and substance abuse specialists as needed.
Maintaining a low patient volume for personalized care.

Role Description:

This is a long-term contract opportunity for a Locum Physician with our organization at the Excelsior Springs Job Corps in Excelsior Springs, MO. The Locum Physician will be responsible for delivering physical exams and minor acute medical care to students aged 16-24 years. We provide competitive compensation and professional liability insurance.

Qualifications:

Possession of an active and unrestricted medical license in the state of Missouri.
Experience in delivering medical care to adolescent patients, including performing basic medical procedures and prescribing medications.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal abilities.
Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Availability to work 18 hours per week (weekends off).
Previous experience as a locum physician is advantageous.
Valid Federal DEA license is required.
