• Answer the telephone promptly, schedule patient appointments, record messages in the EHR system and send to physician and greet patients and visitors in a professional manner.

• Schedule patient appointments and call patients two days in advance of their appointment.

• Verify insurance eligibility through Allscript’s system no later than two days prior to the patient’s appointment.

• When a patient comes into the office, in the Allscripts system: check in the patient, collect co-pays, scan in insurance cards and picture id, retrieve e-mail address from patient, update referring physician, document history, add patient education, document vital signs, document urinalysis results, obtain a current pharmacy, delete old lab orders and send the chart to the physician.

• Reports to Manager of Medical Assistants.
