Position Overview The Registered Nurse (RN) applies the nursing process to support patients in achieving and maintaining their optimum level of health within a people‑centered approach in a 14‑bed Acute Hospital and Emergency Department. The RN works to the full scope of practice, engages in ongoing education, and maintains competency in line with Southern Health‑Sante Sud policies, the Professional Standards of Practice, the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba, the Code of Ethics, and the Regulated Health Professions Act. The incumbent exercises the appropriate level of initiative and independent judgement in determining work priorities, work methods, and actions to be taken on unusual matters. The position functions in a manner consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Southern Health‑Sante Sud and Rock Lake Health District. Experience Preference given to applicants with recent acute care experience (within 2 years). Certification / Licensure / Registration Current active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba and the scope of practice as defined by the Regulated Health Professionals Act (RHPA) Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification Current Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS) certification Trauma Nursing Care Course (TNCC) certification Qualifications and Skills Knowledge of Professional Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics Demonstrated ability to foster a collaborative interdisciplinary environment that supports quality services, quality improvement, and staff empowerment Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships Demonstrated conflict resolution skills Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills Ability to use an analytical and inquiring approach to problem‑solving while contributing to program improvement Demonstrated ability to lead and make decisions autonomously Strong organizational skills and flexibility to meet the demands of the position Ability to effectively perform the tasks and responsibilities of the position Ongoing professional growth and competency relevant to the practice area Ability to respect and promote cultural diversity within the region Proficiency in both official languages (essential for bilingual positions) Respect for confidentiality in paper, electronic, and other formats Good work and attendance record Physical Requirements Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions Shift work – nights, overtime, and pick‑up additional days/ evenings available Rock Lake Health District, in partnership with Southern Health‑Sante Sud and the Indigenous community, is committed to increasing Indigenous representation within all levels of the workforce.
