REGISTERED NURSE (RN) MED SURG

In-Office | Lodi, CA, United States Shift Details Bed Types and Division: The unit has 22 beds that can accommodate Med/Surg and Telemetry patients. Staffing Ratios: Telemetry 4:1, Med/Surg 5:1. Schedule Requirements: Call Required: Yes, for permanent staff. Float Required: Per union contract. Must float to any Med/Surg/Telemetry department to take patients and task in all other departments. Weekend Coverage: Expected for every other weekend rotation. May adjust based on business need. Scheduling Type: Mixture of self‑request and business need. Medication System: Pyxis. Documentation System: Cerner. IV Teams: Monday‑Friday, dayshift only. May not be available during specific dates and times due to patient care of IV nurse. Lift Teams: No. Pharmacy: 24/7. Phlebotomy: 24/7. Transportation: Monday‑Friday, dayshift only. Unit Secretary: No. Provider Coverage: Intensivist – 7 days a week, dayshift; nightshift coverage over the phone, on‑call. Hospitalist – 24/7. Time Off Requests: No requests over holidays. No longer than 2 weeks at a time. Prefer no return‑to‑office during assignment. Travelers must be able to take Med/Surg/Telemetry as part of assignment and float to other departments such as ED, ICU, OB for task only. Job Summary Delivers coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff, and coordinates care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment. Job Requirements Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) – Preferred. Experience: Acute care facility experience – Preferred. Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice – Required. Certifications: CPR or BLS – Required. BLS OR HS‑BLS OR RQI BLS – Required. ACLS – Required. Essential Functions Collects relevant data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation. Analyzes assessment data to determine diagnosis and care issues. Develops a plan prescribing interventions to attain outcomes. Implements the plan, coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment. Evaluates progress toward attaining outcomes and identifies patient or patient situation outcomes. Collaborates with the patient, family, and healthcare providers to provide care in a safe, healing, humane, and caring environment. Provides learning opportunities for patients/family members and team members. Directly provides health information to patients, families, and the treatment team. Participates in discharge planning to provide continuity of care. Delegates appropriately and coordinates duties of healthcare team members. Performs other job‑related duties as assigned.
