We are seeking a meticulous, experienced, and discreet Housekeeper to join a warm and welcoming private family in Atherton. The family lives in a 9,000-square-foot home with four children, a dog, and a cat. The home is active and lived-in, and the family is looking for someone who can take ownership of the household and maintain a consistently high standard without needing to be micromanaged. The ideal candidate will be flexible, organized, and comfortable working independently. The family values someone who is warm and respectful while also understanding the importance of privacy and personal space. This is a long-term opportunity with the potential to transition to full-time for the right candidate. Additional hours for entertaining and special events are available but are not required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain the cleanliness and organization of a 9,000-square-foot private residence. Handle daily and weekly cleaning throughout the home. Manage laundry across two laundry rooms. Iron or steam linens for the primary bedroom and provide occasional ironing as needed. Properly care for special items and finishes, including artwork, antiques, marble, silver, and other specialty materials. Dust and maintain outdoor furniture and cover furniture appropriately during rain. Assist with preparing the home for entertaining when additional hours are requested. Use environmentally conscious cleaning products when possible. Identify and address household needs proactively. Maintain a quiet, discreet presence while respecting the family's privacy.

REQUIREMENTS

Previous experience as a professional housekeeper in a private home. Experience maintaining large private residences. Meticulous attention to detail and pride in one's work. Knowledge of proper care for fine finishes, antiques, artwork, marble, silver, and specialty items. Highly organized, dependable, flexible, and self-motivated. Able to work independently with minimal supervision. Warm, professional, and respectful demeanor. Calm and even-tempered with a low-key, non-intrusive personality.
