We’re hiring two (1) Anesthesiologists for the VA in Columbia, MO | $430/hr. | any state license | board certified or eligible

• ABA Board Certification or Eligibility verification

• BLS, ACLS
\n
• DEA

• Although not required, the facility prefers physicians with expertise, training, and/or familiarity with anesthesia administration for complex cardiac interventions/surgeries (i.e., CABG, TAVR, etc).

LOCATION : Harry S Truman VAMC, 800 Hospital Dr, Columbia, MO 65201

\n

 
START DATE and DURATION:

\n

\n
• As soon as available and credentialed:2-4 weeks for credentialing/security (with leeway for notification to current employer, if applicable)
\n
• Currently a 1+-year contract, with extensions. Contract terminates 12/27
\n
• ( Note: the duration is a contract between us and the Government. Like any other job, if life means you must leave, you just give us 60-day notice ).
\n

COMPENSATION (Rates are listed as 1099, all inclusive):

\n

\n
• M-F regular hours and Call Back: $430/hr.
\n
• On-Call (from home): $50/hr.
\n
• We cover Med Mal
\n

\n

 
SCHEDULE :

\n

\n
• Typical OR daily schedule is 7:00 am – 4:30 pm (Anesthesiologists scheduled 40hrs/week)
\n
• On-call averages 1 day/week and 1 weekend/month
\n
• An anesthesiologist and CRNA are on-call simultaneously
\n
• Call from home: Be available within 15 min. by phone and on-site within 60 min.
\n
• Call-back is rare, approx. 1/week for the entire department
\n

\n

 
MAKEUP of the DEPARTMENT:

\n

\n
• When fully staffed, there will be 5 Anesthesiologists and 13 CRNAs (there are no residents)
\n
• Support: Two Anesthesia Techs
\n
• Number of ORs: 7
\n

\n

 
CASES:

\n

\n
• Case load: Approximately 12 surgical cases/day in the department
\n
• Typical cases are General, Ortho, Eyes, Cardiac (<10% of case volume)
\n
• Anesthesiologists will not cover Pain or ICU
\n

\n

 
MODEL:

\n
• Supervise CRNAs (may have to deliver solo anesthesia should CRNA staffing dip)
\n
