Inpatient Spinal Cord Injury Physical Rehab Unit, 6N

Join our Inpatient Spinal Cord Injury Physical Rehab Unit, 6N! Our primary patient population includes spinal cord injury (SCI). The primary skills utilized/learned include assisting patients with all aspects of personal hygiene, eating & drinking, answering call lights & taking vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, and other parameters as instructed), and performing/transmitting basic ECG and phlebotomy.

The personnel the Physical Care Nurse Assistant (PCNA) will work with include LPNs, registered nurses, nurse interns, providers, social workers/case management, respiratory therapy, PT/OT, speech therapy, art & music therapy, and dietitians. The unit has 24 beds and has received recognition as a National Model System.

Required qualifications include a high school diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam, ability to work in a team environment while demonstrating good judgment, flexibility, initiative, and effectively problem-solving skills, and current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.

Preferred qualifications include being registered in good standing as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) with the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Nurse Aide Registry (maintaining ODH Registry status as an STNA is optional after employment in this position) and 1 year of experience as a Patient Care Nurse Assistant in a hospital.
