Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assists the head coach in assigned football duties and coaches the Varsity team. Checks practice areas daily and removes hazardous objects. Helps develop a positive public-relation program for the school and community. Recommends equipment purchases to the head coach. Supervises locker rooms before and after practice. Provides up-to-date medical procedures for treating athletic injuries. Behaves in a manner that sets a good example for students on and off the field. Ensures participant eligibility and insurance coverage with the head coach. Stays informed of football rules, SC High School League regulations, and district policies on interscholastic sports. Performs other duties assigned by the supervisor. Job Specifications Supervisory Responsibilities: Carries out supervisory responsibilities per district policies and applicable laws. Qualifications Requirements: Must be reliable, responsible, dependable, and fulfill obligations; able to perform essential duties in a pleasant, professional, and efficient manner. Education and Experience: To be decided by Executive Director and/or Building Principal. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid teaching certificate, if applicable. Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedures, write routine reports and correspondence, and speak effectively to administrators, staff, parents, and students. Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate basic arithmetic and apply basic algebra and geometry. Reasoning Ability: Interpret and apply common sense, analyze information, solve practical problems. Other Skills and Abilities: Apply current research, establish effective relationships with students, staff, community, communicate clearly, and perform duties with awareness of district requirements. Physical Demands: Frequently required to sit, walk, stand, travel between sites; requires vision and hearing; often works irregular or extended hours. Work Environment Works largely indoors; must meet severe time constraints; safety and well-being of students and coaches are responsibilities; noise level varies from quiet to loud. Term of Employment Seasonal; Athletic Supplements Pay Scale. Evaluation Performance evaluated annually per Board Policy.
