Description

American Traveler seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist with CCC certification and dysphagia expertise for an inpatient rehabilitation unit specializing in stroke rehab.

Details

• Inpatient Rehabilitation unit with 28 beds
• Interdisciplinary therapy team including PT, OT, COTA, and rehab techs
• SLP caseload of 6 to 8 patients per day with 30 to 45 minute sessions based on referrals
• Uses Vital Stim, Bioness, Pneuvest, and BITS visual and cognitive program equipment
• Meditech EMR system
• Monday through Friday schedule, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Rare urgent evaluations for swallow or diet concerns

Requirements

• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required
• 2+ years of experience required
• Georgia state license required if applicable
• Experience with Modified Barium Swallow Study (MBSS) required
• Dysphagia treatment experience required
• Cognitive assessment and treatment experience required
• Stroke rehabilitation experience required
• Vital Stim certification preferred
• FEES (Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing) experience preferred
• TBI experience preferred

Additional Information

• Perform bedside swallow exams, Vital Stim therapy, and MBSS procedures
• Provide cognitive assessment and treatment for inpatient rehab population
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary rehab team including PT, OT, and nursing staff
• Black scrub attire required
• No floating required
