Therapist Occupational Therapy Assistant

$1380.40/week

Job Summary:

Provides rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary occupational therapy interventions to patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. Ensures efficient delivery of treatment modalities to promote patient recovery and independence.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Assess patient progress and communicate findings with supervising Occupational Therapist to modify treatment plans accordingly.
  
  
• 
  Administer various clinical procedures including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, exercises, modalities, and use of supportive devices.
  
  
• 
  Document all treatment interventions and patient responses accurately in electronic health records, ensuring compliance with regulatory and clinical standards.
  
  
• 
  Educate patients, families, caregivers, and other providers on managing cognitive and physical disorders and optimizing functional independence.
  
  
• 
  Participate in multidisciplinary care team meetings, patient care conferences, and rehabilitation reviews.
  
  
• 
  Support supervision of students and assist in obtaining necessary DME or supplies as per clinical needs.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Valid active State OTA license in Massachusetts.
  
  
• 
  Minimum of 1 year of OTA experience, preferably in LTC or rehabilitation settings.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrated ability to support evidence-based practice and clinical interventions.
  
  
• 
  Strong communication skills to coordinate with healthcare team members and educate patients.
  
  
• 
  Ability to document accurately and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
  
  
• 
  Willingness to support ongoing professional development through trainings and conferences.
