Our success is rooted in our commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. Position Summary Riley Industrial Services is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. Candidates must be able to pass a DOT physical and meet all company hiring requirements. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of diesel engines, vehicle systems, and preventative maintenance practices. Inspect vehicles and equipment to ensure proper functionality and safe operation. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using appropriate testing and diagnostic equipment. Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on diesel vehicles and equipment. Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions efficiently and accurately. Complete and maintain detailed repair, maintenance, and diagnostic reports. Conduct routine inspections, including oil changes, tire rotations, and other scheduled maintenance services. Perform test drives and operational checks to verify repairs and equipment performance. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the shop and surrounding work areas. Follow all company safety procedures and industry regulations. Collaborate with supervisors, technicians, and other team members to complete repairs and maintenance projects on schedule. Qualifications Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening, including marijuana testing. Ability to pass a DOT physical examination. Previous experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Automotive Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, or in a related role preferred. Strong knowledge of diesel engines, vehicle systems, and repair procedures. Excellent diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong work ethic, dependability, and attention to detail. Physically capable of performing the duties associated with vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair.
