Converting OperatorPosition: Converting OperatorLocation: Hickory, NCEmployment Status: Full-Time, Non-ExemptShifts: Second 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm, Third 10:00 pm to 6:00 amDepartment: ManufacturingReports To: Shift SupervisorPosition Overview:The Converting Operator is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient production of filter sheets using water jet and punch press equipment. This role supports product quality, regulatory compliance, and production efficiency in a GMP / ISO-regulated manufacturing environment.This opportunity is open to qualified internal candidates interested in expanding their manufacturing skills and experience.Pay InformationStarting rate: $21.50 per hourProgression rate: $22.50 per hour after one year in the position in accordance with the manufacturing pay tableShift differential: $1.00 per hour for 2nd and 3rd shiftKey ResponsibilitiesSafety & ComplianceFollow all safety procedures and wear required PPEPerform required equipment safety inspectionsMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work areaMachine OperationSet up, inspect, and operate water jet and punch press equipmentVerify alignment, measurements, and cut qualityInspect test cuts, work-in-process, and finished products for defectsQuality & DocumentationComply with GMP and ISO requirementsVerify materials, lots, and work orders prior to productionAccurately complete production and quality documentationProduction & InventoryPackage and label finished goods per work order instructionsProperly identify scrap or reusable materialsSupport inventory counts as assignedTeamworkWork collaboratively with production, quality, maintenance, safety, and warehouse teamsCommunicate clearly and professionally with supervisors and coworkersQualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalentPrevious manufacturing or machine operation experience preferredAbility to follow work instructions, safety rules, and quality standardsBasic math, measurement, and computer skillsStrong attention to detail and reliabilityForklift certification or willingness to obtain certification preferredPhysical & Work Environment RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periodsRegular lifting up to 50 lbs.; occasional lifting up to 65 lbs.Frequent bending, reaching, and material handlingAbility to work in heat, noise, dust, and PPE-required environmentsHow to ApplyInternal candidates should apply through the internal job posting process in accordance with company policy.
