Inspector, Construction Employer: PADCOM Design & Construction Management Services Client: Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) Division: Quality Assurance & Construction Inspection Program: Tenant Improvement Program Location: Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) – Onsite Schedule: Full-Time About the Role PADCOM Design & Construction Management Services is seeking a Construction Inspector to support LAWA’s Quality Assurance & Construction Inspection Division across multiple projects within the Tenant Improvement Program. This role performs field inspections of building construction activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, codes, and safety standards within an active airport environment. The position requires strong technical knowledge and the ability to coordinate with contractors, engineers, and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Conduct daily inspections of building and terminal construction projects to ensure compliance with codes, specifications, and contract requirements. Review and interpret construction documents including drawings, shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and change orders. Prepare detailed daily inspection reports documenting construction activities, deficiencies, and safety concerns. Verify contractor compliance with local jurisdiction requirements, building codes, ADA requirements, and LAWA standards. Support special inspections and testing activities in coordination with engineers and third‑party agencies. Track field changes, time‑and‑material work, and construction quantities as needed. Assist in validating contractor payment applications based on approved schedules of values. Areas of Inspection Demolition and site clearing activities Excavation, trenching, and shoring Surveying, grading, and elevations Structural backfill and underground utilities Concrete work, formwork, footings, and foundations Sewer and storm drain systems Framing, drywall, and interior finishes Doors, hardware, ceilings, and fire‑rated assemblies Minimum Qualifications Education High school diploma or equivalent Experience Minimum 5 years of construction inspection experience Strong knowledge of building construction methods and materials Understanding of LA City Building Code and ADA requirements Certifications (Required) Cal‑OSHA 30‑hour training Fall protection training Confined space awareness certification NFPA 70E certification (for electrical inspection scope, if applicable) Preferred Qualifications ICC certifications and/or Deputy Inspector licenses Experience inspecting large‑scale commercial or public facility construction Experience with airport or aviation infrastructure projects Strong ability to identify deficiencies and ensure compliance Skills & Knowledge Strong ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications Excellent documentation and reporting skills Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to coordinate with contractors, engineers, and project teams Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, PMWeb, and document control systems Strong communication and time management skills Work Conditions & Requirements Onsite position at LAX (not remote) Must pass background check and obtain LAWA SIDA badge Must be able to walk long distances across terminals daily Must be able to climb ladders, scaffolding, and access confined spaces Must be able to work day, swing, or night shifts including weekends May require overtime and modified schedules based on construction activities Salary & Benefits Salary Range: Competitive, commensurate with experience and qualifications Schedule: Full‑Time Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, retirement contributions, and professional development opportunities #J-18808-Ljbffr Padcomdcm
