Join us in continuing and strengthening our position as a market share leader dedicated and trusted by retailers and consumers alike.Position SummaryThe Supply Manager's main responsibility is to manage the flow of all assigned produce items procured from either domestic or imported sources. This position reports to the Director of Supply and works closely with the leaders of all the S&OP departments. This position will require periodic travel to multiple growing regions throughout the year as well as to other Pero locations as the company deems necessary.Essential FunctionsManage assigned product lines from receipt to shipment, ensuring quality and consistencyWalk the production floor and coolers daily to inspect and monitor productLift and handle cases of raw product (20-40lbs or more) as part of product inspectionPartner with QC and Production teams to review daily inspection reports, evaluate incoming product, identify quality concerns, and make purchasing decisionsConduct inspections in packing houses and directly from field deliveries on a regular basisAttend daily onsite department meetingsEnsure full compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety protocols, including proper use of PPEMaintain accurate records of product inspections and communicate with vendors and internal teams as neededDevelops and innovates sourcing strategy for assigned commoditiesNegotiate raw product contracts with suppliers based on commodity specificationsIntegrate new suppliers into our network with the collaboration of the Quality Assurance Team in order to help them reach the level of excellence required by company standardsExpand current grower relations to keep portfolio balanced and diversifiedFacilitate targeted deliveries of raw product with the Logistics Team and ProductionAnalyze daily inventory levels to maintain freshness and ease the flow of materialsCommunicate with the Sales team to ensure all variances are understoodPrepare assigned commodity update reports of volume, price, and availability for weekly reviewResponsible for maintaining budgetary profit margins and improving costs on assigned commoditiesParticipate with growers, finance, sales/marketing, R&D and project managers with new product development and launchEducation And ExperienceBachelor's Degree or equivalent industry experienceMinimum of 2+ years in procurement or related fieldComputer skills: Basics: Microsoft Office Suite, strong emphasis in ExcelIndustry Specific: ERP Software; Famous, Forecasting SoftwareExperience in the CPG space, preferably in fresh produceFood Safety and Quality regulations: Primus, BRC, HAACP, GMP, GSFIWorking ConditionsWork is performed in a combination of office, production, packing house, and refrigerated cooler environmentsRegular exposure to cold temperatures while working in coolers and refrigerated storage areasFrequent presence on the production floor and in packing facilities to inspect and monitor productRequired compliance with all food safety, GMP, and PPE protocols, including proper donning and doffing of PPEDaily interaction with cross-functional teams, including Supply, QC, Production, Logistics, Sales, and FinancePeriodic travel to domestic and international growing regions, packing houses, and other company locations as business needs requireParticipation in daily onsite department meetingsUse of computers and ERP systems in an office environment for reporting, analysis, and communicationRequired to follow strict GMP guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to sanitation standards when entering controlled environments.Physical RequirementsAbility to walk extensively throughout production floors, coolers, and packing areas on a daily basisAbility to lift, carry, push, and pull cases of raw product weighing approximately 20–40 pounds or moreAbility to stand, walk, bend, reach, and inspect product for extended periodsAbility to work in refrigerated environments for prolonged durationsAbility to sit for extended periods while performing computer-based workManual dexterity and visual acuity required to conduct detailed product inspections and review documentationCompany Benefits/Perks401(k)Health, Dental, Vision Insurance and morePaid Time Off (PTO)The company (Pero) reserves the right to alter, amend, expand or contract these duties and responsibilities as the company's needs evolve
