Mainframe Cobol Developer

Technical Lead
The Technical Lead will be responsible for leading and managing Mainframe Cobol, DB2, VSAM, JCL, and Mainframe CICS projects. The role involves overseeing the technical development, maintenance, and support of mainframe applications while ensuring adherence to coding standards, best practices, and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of mainframe cobol, db2, vsam, jcl, mainframe cics developers in designing, developing, and testing mainframe applications.
- Manage the full software development lifecycle of mainframe projects from requirements gathering to deployment.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and provide technical solutions that meet the needs of the organization.
- Perform code reviews, enforce coding standards, and ensure the quality of deliverables.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to mainframe cobol, db2, vsam, jcl, and mainframe cics applications.
- Stay updated on industry trends and technologies to recommend process improvements and innovative solutions.
- Ensure compliance with security and data protection regulations in all mainframe development activities.
Skill Requirements
- Proficiency in mainframe cobol programming language.
- Strong knowledge of mainframe db2, vsam, and jcl.
- Experience with mainframe cics in a production environment.
- Solid understanding of mainframe architecture and system software.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities to effectively lead a technical team.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast paced environment.
Certifications: Relevant certifications in Mainframe Cobol, DB2, VSAM, JCL, Mainframe CICS are a plus.
