Senior System Safety Engineer - Tucson, AZ Position for senior system safety engineer. What You Will Do As a Senior System Safety Engineer you will lead or participate in: Leading one or more MIL-STD-882E compliant system safety programs. Performing MIL-STD-882E system safety program tasks and analyses, or customer-approved equivalents. Coordinating with customer safety representatives to obtain safety approval from Safety Review Board authorities. Working across integrated product teams and lines to eliminate hazards or provide effective controls. Collaborating with program management and government approval authorities from program startup through production to demilitarization and disposal. Key Responsibilities Perform system safety program, hazard, or design analyses. Brief safety of the program at technical reviews and as part of the safety approval process. Interpret system requirements, customer specifications, and military standards. Prepare internal and customer reports describing relevant analyses for the system safety program. Collaborate across multiple disciplines to understand product architecture and design. Qualifications You Must Have Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Experience in system safety engineering with software, firmware, or electrical engineering. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship required. Preferred Qualifications Experience in weapon combat systems. Experience with DoD system safety programs. Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and proposal development. Experience solving complex problems by leveraging available resources and research material. Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills. Interpersonal and project management skills, with ability to manage a safety program and provide direction to supporting safety personnel. Master’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM). Benefits Competitive salary range: $86,800 - $165,200.
