Maintenance Technician

Position Type: Contract

Contract Duration: 4 months possible extension

Start: Immediate

Pay Rate: $21.00$22.00 / Hour (USD)

Shift / Schedule: Monday Friday, 7:00 AM 3:30 PM with potential for some on-call work after initial training period

Travel Requirements: Not required

Job Summary

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining small to medium-sized buildings, industrial systems, and equipment. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and other building systems.
  • Conduct routine maintenance inspections, diagnose potential problems, and make repairs.
  • Assist with the installation and modification of building equipment and systems.
  • Review assigned work orders and partner with available systems to track completion.
  • Support energy management by ensuring all building systems are operating efficiently.
  • Inspect existing installations for compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
  • Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems and exchange straightforward information in a clear, concise manner.
  • Impact team through defined duties, methods and tasks as described in detail.
  • Deliver own output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.

Required Skills

  • Electrical troubleshooting experience
  • Mechanical experience, specifically overhead doors
  • Ability to walk up and down multiple flights of stairs each day
  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic phone app skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset
  • Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work

Preferred Skills

  • 480 volt experience
  • Food safety experience
  • Hydraulic experience

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma required; trade school preferred or equivalent experience

Required Experience

  • 12 years of job-related maintenance experience

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

  • Facility work includes overhead doors, dock doors, fire life safety PM's, overhead lights, minor plumbing, and light carpentry.
  • Candidate will need to be comfortable working from heights scissor lift/forklift operation.
  • Candidate will need to be able to walk up and down multiple flights of stairs each day.
  • Must meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Client-facing role.
  • Some independent work; some work as a team based on safety requirements.
  • Work environment consists of 500,000 sq. feet of production space and warehouse.
  • Pre-employment drug screen required (Safety Specific background package).
